On September 11, the groundbreaking ceremony of the country's largest desert photovoltaic base, the Tengger Desert 3GW new energy base photovoltaic composite project, was held in Zhongwei City, Ningxia. The project is invested and constructed by Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of National Energy Group.

According to reports, the Tengger Desert 3GW New Energy Base Photovoltaic Complex Project is located in Yingshuiqiao Town, Shapotou District, Zhongwei City. It is the first UHV transmission channel in my country to develop a desert photovoltaic base and transmit new energy- It is a key supporting project of the "Ningxia Electric Power into Hunan" project. The total installed capacity of the project is 3 million kilowatts, the total investment is 15.25 billion yuan, and the total investment of the first phase 1 million kilowatts photovoltaic project is about 5.114 billion yuan. After the project is completed, the annual power generation will reach about 5.78 billion kWh, the operating income will be 1.5 billion yuan, and 1,500 jobs will be provided. It can save 1.92 million tons of standard coal every year, reduce the annual emission of sulfur dioxide by about 33,900 tons, reduce the annual emission of nitrogen oxides by about 50,000 tons, and reduce the annual emission of carbon dioxide by about 4.66 million tons.


It is understood that Ningxia is located in the northwest hinterland, with high altitude, long sunshine hours, and abundant wind and solar energy resources. It is one of the five provinces most suitable for the development of new energy in the country. Zhongwei City, located on the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert, the fourth largest desert in my country, belongs to the national Class I solar energy resource area. Zhongwei City has implemented 111 new energy projects in recent years, and the total installed capacity of new energy in the city has reached 8.27 million kWh, accounting for nearly one-third of Ningxia.


In addition to the 4,000,000-kilowatt coal-fired power project at the sending end of the UHV project of "Ningxia Electricity into Hunan", 13,000,000 kilowatts of new energy are mainly built, including 6,000,000 kilowatts of photovoltaics in Zhongwei Desert, 3,000,000 kilowatts of photovoltaics in Hongsibao Gobi, and 400,000 kilowatts of wind power such as Zhongwei Haiyuan. Ten thousand kilowatts.


The investment scale of the project is about 100 billion yuan, of which about 30 billion yuan for delivery channel projects, about 52 billion yuan for new energy projects, about 7 billion yuan for coal power projects, and about 13 billion yuan for energy storage projects.

According to preliminary research conclusions, the "Ningxia Electricity to Hunan" UHV DC transmission line project will pass through five provinces (regions) and one city in Ningxia, Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Hubei, and Hunan, with a total length of 1,467 kilometers. Designed to deliver 40 billion kWh to 44 billion kWh of electricity annually, the "Ningxia Electricity into Hunan" project will increase Hunan's electricity by 1/6 after the project is put into operation at the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan".


Longyuan Power said that the 3GW new energy base photovoltaic composite project in Tengger Desert is a key project for Ningxia to promote the development and deployment of "green energy development, green hydrogen production, and green development" and adjust the power structure.
