On September 8, 2021, the Xiamen Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (Xiamen Torch Hi-tech Zone) organized a contract signing ceremony for major investment attraction projects, where more than 40 projects were signed and settled on site. The Solar First New Energy Research and Development Center project, co-developed by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Xiamen University, and the Solar First Group, is among the key projects signed during this event.
At the same time, the 21st China International Fair for Investment and Trade (referred to as "CIFIT") was convened in Xiamen. The China International Fair for Investment and Trade is a significant global event designed to facilitate two-way investment between China and foreign countries. It takes place in Xiamen, China, from September 8th to 11th every year. Following over twenty years of growth, the China International Fair for Investment and Trade has emerged as one of the world's most impactful international investment events.

This year's China International Fair for Investment and Trade, under the theme "New Opportunities for International Investment under the New Development Pattern," displayed the popular trends and key industrial achievements in green economy, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, digital economy, and other fields.
As a frontrunner in the global photovoltaic industry, the Solar First Group has been dedicated to high-tech research, development, and production in the solar energy sector for more than a decade, earnestly answering the national policy call for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Leveraging the platform of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade, the Solar First New Energy Research and Development Center project was formally inked on the afternoon of September 8th. This project is collectively advanced and executed by CMEC, Xiamen University, the Management Committee of Xiamen Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, the People's Government of Jimei District, Xiamen City, Xiamen Information Group, and the Solar First Group.
The Solar First New Energy Research and Development Center project is funded and founded by Xiamen Solar First Energy Technology Co., LTD., focused on creating a cluster of new energy research institutions.
Xiamen Solar First will conduct deep collaboration with the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Xiamen University in the third phase of Xiamen Software Park. The joint construction contents include: a new energy technology export base, an energy storage industry-university-research base, a new energy application research and development center, and a BRICS carbon neutrality industry-university-research integration research center. This center will act as the technical backing platform, application execution body, and primary funding channel for CMEC's project investment in Xiamen.
Against the backdrop of global climate change and the adjustment of the national energy structure, Xiamen Solar First will partner with CMEC to collectively back the development of the Solar First New Energy R&D Center project and proactively address China's goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
