Wuzhou Large-Scale Steep Slope Flexible Suspension Support Demo Project Set for Grid Connection

On June 16, 2022, the 3MW water‑solar complementary photovoltaic project in Wuzhou,

Guangxi, has entered its final sprint stage. This project is invested and developed by Wuzhou Guoneng Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the National Energy Investment Group, and is contracted by the First Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. of China Energy Group. Solar First has been deeply involved in the project's survey, design, product supply (flexible suspension cable support system), construction, and installation phases.

The project is located on the southern slope of a hydropower station in Wuzhou, Guangxi. The terrain in this area is complex, featuring steep (35–45 degrees) and irregular slopes, which pose great difficulties and challenges for positioning measurement, construction and installation, as well as safe operation. After numerous on‑site investigations, scheme discussions, design iterations, and validations, the technical team of Solar First Group proposed a scientific, rigorous, and efficient flexible suspension cable support solution tailored to local conditions, ensuring maximum utilization of idle mountainous areas. This solution has earned high praise from the owner in terms of technical design, construction safety, and efficiency.

Solar First Group is actively researching photovoltaic support structure technologies and continuously innovating. The new flexible suspension cable support technology was independently developed by Solar First Group and was granted a "Utility Model Patent" in May 2022. Its invention patent has entered the substantive examination stage at the National Patent Office.

Against the backdrop of the country’s vigorous promotion of "fishery and photovoltaic complementarity", "agriculture and photovoltaic complementarity", and mountain‑based as well as distributed photovoltaic projects, the Solar First technical team will rely on its strong high‑tech capabilities to meet market demands, win green photovoltaic energy projects both at home and abroad, and continuously accumulate construction experience in flexible suspension cable support projects. This will contribute to the adjustment of the national energy structure and the accelerated upgrading of the energy industry.

New energy, new world!
